4th Korean athlete to attempt at becoming part of an IOC committee


2004 Athens Olympic Game's 'Taekwon Star' Dae Seung Moon will attempt to become an IOC athlete committee.

KOC (Korean Olympic Committee) announced on the 18th that they have nominated Moon for the position. Moon along with other nominated athletes will attempt to become part of an IOC committee for the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Before Moon, there were 3 other Korean athletes in the past who have attempted to become part of the committee. They are Eun Kyung Lee, Lee Kyung Jun, and Kwang Bae Kang. They all have failed in the past.

Moon first showed his interest in the position back in June 20th during a press conference. He stated "It's not an easy task to become an IOC athlete committee member but I believe with much effort it's possible."

Moon became eligible for qualifying for the Korean National Team by coming in 3rd place at the Olympic qualifiers last month. Some say he may be doing too much at once but if Moon does become part of the IOC committee, it will definitely be a plus for South Korea.
